You’ve no doubt stumbled across my blog not by sheer coincidence (I don’t believe in coincidences), BUT you were brought here for whatever reason by something greater than both of us and even greater than the search engine that brought you!

Let me just say, I am not a doctor. I am not a nutritionist. I am not a personal trainer. I am not a licensed therapist or counselor.  I am not a master herbalist or homeopath. I am not an athlete. What I am is a woman who woke up one morning and recognized that she hated herself, her body, who she was, how she thought, and decided to change that.

What I share here on my blog is from years of trial and error. Things that work for me may not work for you and vica versa, but OVERALL, EVERYTHING I share will enrich and better your mind, body, spirit, or just life in general if you allow it to.

I am also an Independent Diamond Team Beachbody Coach and Leader. If you check my blog you will find lots of products I have both used, and offer for sale on my Team Beachbody Website HOWEVER I am transitioning this blog over to higher quality of content and cleaning it up from the sales vibe that it began to take on.

First and foremost the reasons I became a  coach is #1 I needed to hold myself accountable for my health and fitness and being a coach did that for me , and #2 I want to help empower others to take control of their own lives in every aspect.

On this Life transforming journey, I have learned ALOT about myself and who I was, who I am, and who I want to be.  I discovered early on that I needed to be flexible. I needed whatever changes I made to be something I could live with forever. I also needed to understand that this is a marathon and not a sprint and that to make permanent lifestyle changes from the inside out, mind , body, and spirit, all working together, would take time and that I would need to be patient with the process and understand that It takes time to change and modify bad habits into healthier, more productive habits on all levels.

What I want to bring to you is life changing, mind empowering, soul searching, inspired information, and my own personal testimony of how to take a holistic approach to health and fitness to evolve into a higher quality of life. You can’t just change how you eat. You can’t just exercise. You have to go deep inside yourself and learn to truly love yourself and respect yourself enough to want better and to make it happen even with baby steps.

Nature has a way of providing for us in a perfect way all the things we need. Nothing that can be created and or simulated in a lab can even come close to the healing properties of nature.

Decades ago when food processing first began, it became regular practice to alter that which nature provided. Thus began the era of “frankenfoods.”

Whole, nutritious natural foods that mostly came straight from the farm to the table were replaced by over-processed, refined and chemical laden, mass-produced convenience foods.

And fats were no different. Over four decades healthy sources of fats were replaced with vegetable oils that were thought to be “better-for-you.” We now know they’ve done more harm than good.

The following four are the worst offenders you should avoid at all costs:

  1. Canola Oil

Many people with eating disorders are not even generally aware that they even have one. Binge eating, and or overeating specifically are some of the most common.

In the past many people associated eating disorders primarily with women. Studies have shown that just as many men if not more struggle with eating disorders.

Here are some behaviors to be aware of if you think you or someone you love may be suffering with a binge eating disorder:

  1. Lack of control once eating has begun:  This is one of the first indicators that there could be an eating problem.  If you are full yet you can’t and or won’t stop eating there is a problem. If you almost always eat till you are beyond miserable there is a problem. Now I am not talking about Thanksgiving dinner and other holidays were generally we over indulge.
  2. Depression: If you tend to always feel depressed and turn to food for comfort this could be another sign.
  3. Grief: If you feel like you just can’t say no without feeling bad and thinking about it. Not having it is actually breaking your heart.
  4. Anxiety: Knowing you shouldn’t be over eating or binge eating and somehow it makes you anxious when you do and when you don’t.
  5. Shame: Worried about what others will think if they only knew the way you really eat when no one is looking. Hiding food so that no one knows what and how much you are eating.
  6. Disgust or self hatred: Once the high of binging on food subsides you feel disgusted with yourself. You go into a phase of self loathing that either triggers you to want to diet, or make a change but you just never seem to be able to do it.

Why can’t you do it? You can not diet away an eating disorder. There are generally underlying emotional reasons that trigger overeating and binge eating. This is why a large percentage of people who have gastric bypass, lap band, or other weight loss surgeries or go on diets tend to in the long term gain back some if not all and more of the weight they lost.  Until you learn how to have a new and healthy relationship with food, it will be a never ending cycle that will destroy you.

The good news is that there is hope and help to end binge eating and overeating. There are counselors, and various inpatient and outpatient programs. There are online groups and tools that can help you. A great place to start would be to check out the End Binge Eating Disorder and Compulsive Overeating disorders site. There are free tools to get you started and on your way to healing and recovering from a life of overeating and binge eating.

There is recovery from a life of food addiction. It is simply up to you to take back the power you have given to food and develop a healthy relationship with food that will last a lifetime.

Beachbody Ultimate Reset Review Week 1 | Loving Yourself From the Inside Out

Week 1 Beachbody Ultimate Reset Review:

When I decided to FINALLY make the commitment to myself and my health to take 21 days to reset, cleanse, alkalize, and detox my body I knew it would not be the easiest thing for me. I believe that is why I have hesitated doing The Ultimate Reset for so long.  I mean 21 days is a long time when you LOVE food!

I guess I was under the impression that I would be starving!!! NOT TRUE…  I have felt full and satisfied for the most part. There have been moments where mentally I wanted to fulfill a craving or desire and I even caved once but I didn’t let that get me off track.

I told you I would keep it real with you so I will, good, bad , indifferent….

Pre Reset:

My Ultimate Reset program came in. Time to educate myself and plan for my first week.  I read the materials which I found to be very helpful. I looked over the contents of the program and found my promise bracelet that comes with EVERY Ultimate Reset program to help you remember the promise and commitment you have made to yourself and your health and loving yourself from the inside out.

I was a little overwhelmed by the whole thing and then I discovered a way that it all can be simplified while I was reading the manual and I must say this was VERY helpful and just what I needed.

I did have a hard time finding a shopping list but eventually did on the Beachbody Ultimate Reset Client Portal.  When looking for ingredients I was not able to find miso paste at any of my local stores so you may want to check ahead of time or order it from somewhere online because it is called for alot in this program. I opted to not use it since I couldn’t find it before I began my program.

The program recommend beginning on a Wednesday so that is what I did. March 2, 2016 is when I began. I recently had gotten my weight down to 236 lbs (my lowest in years) THEN I took some medication that skyrocketed my weight to 247 lbs in just a matter of days which was very discouraging BUT I did not let that detour me from my ultimate health and weightloss goal. Time to do this!

Day 1 The Ultimate Reset:

This day is all about getting into the Ultimate Reset Phase 1 week 1 routine. The hardest thing for me was just trying to remember to eat and take the assigned supplement at the right time BUT by day 2 I had it down! :)  You take your body weight and divide 2 and that is what you drink in ounces of water daily. You also add the Beachbody Ultimate Reset Mineralize to the water you drink. You will also be taking the Ultimate Reset Optimize 30 minutes before your meals. In the afternoon (before your snack) you will drink the Ultimate Reset Alkalinize which wasn’t the worst thing I have ever had but it does take some getting used to. Before dinner you add the Ultimate Reset Soothe to the regimen.  I was not hungry and I really enjoyed the food I got to eat. I had 2 eggs and spinach, and whole grain toast for breakfast and even for lunch since it was so easy and yummy. For dinner I had Genghis Grill with NO SAUCES just some of the basic seasonings and it was yummy! I felt fine on this day.

Day 2 Ultimate Reset:

Woke up feeling pretty good. Ready to start my routine. I ate the eggs and spinach again because I really loved it and it just was easier… You get to have eggs up till day 4 so I figured I would make my life easier and just go with that for breakfast and lunch each day till then.  Getting the swing of this now and drinking all of my water and adding the mineralize to my distilled water like it suggests.  I didn’t feel hungry this day.

Day 3 Ultimate Reset:

I woke up on this day feeling GREAT! I had dropped weight already (I know it was water but I’ll take it) I ate the same things as day 1 and 2 with dinner being just a bit different. I felt ok this day BUT this was the day I was really tempted and gave in to a craving I was having… That made me feel bad BUT I tried to not let it keep me off course the rest of my day.

Day 4 Ultimate Reset: 

This day I had oatmeal and fruit for breakfast. It tasted  so good. Later in the day I noticed I was feeling VERY moody and kinda cranky and just wanted to sleep. I began to wonder if I could REALLY do this program… BUT after battling with myself mentally and reminding myself why I choose to do the Ultimate Reset program I decided to keep going…

Day 5 Ultimate Reset:

This day I guess I felt a renewed sense of being able to accomplish this goal of mine BUT thinking to myself 21 days is SOOOOOOO LONG! LOL


Day 6 Ultimate Reset:

Went through my routine without a hitch! I prepped my lunch from leftover dinner from the day before . At this point I am having fruit fro breakfast the past couple of days since I can’t have eggs now.  Feeling good BUT I am having CRAZY cravings! I know that is part of this process and will go away. I had a headache later in the evening but I drank some water and it went away.

Day 7 Ultimate Reset:

This is the last day I get to have chicken or oatmeal…. UGH… LOL  Ready to move into the next phase of the program Phase 2 Week 2 of the Ultimate Reset. I went shopping today and again I plan to eat alot of the same things to make it easier for me to stick with. Phase 2 calls for beans, brown rice, sweet potatoes, fruit and veggies…. K.I.S.S.  Not alot of variety but I dont care at this point I am just literally counting down the days that I am done with this!!!  :)

All in all, I would say that this is NOT going to be an easy so program at the same time it is only as difficult and hard as you make it… You have to make sure you have the mindset to do this and that is why till now I hadn’t done it. I was not mentally and emotionally ready to do this for 21 days. Believe me you are going to battle your feelings,and your head during this process BUT I know without a doubt the results will be worth it in the end .

Who remembers all the different diets, meal replacements, and pills that they took to try to lose a few pesky pounds? For me it seems I tried everything. I actually saw some long-term weight loss from the original Xenedrine with ephedra. Used as instructed it was safe and effective for most people. I lost over 100 lbs using it and kept it off for 3 years even after they took it off the market.

Example,  Muscle Milk has 105 mg of Vitamin C, while Shakeology has 180 mg. Muscle Milk also only has 875 IU of Vitamin A, while Shakeology has 5000 IU. As you can see, there’s no cutting corners on Shakeology’s end. Every drop is as nutrient-dense just as promised.



Shakeology vs. Myoplex

Myoplex may be a decent alternative since it contains a reasonable amount of healthy vitamins and minerals, but but it is twice the serving size of Shakeology which means more calories per serving without the benefit of twice the nutrition…  Myoplex does not even compare when it comes to phytonutrients, prebiotics, and digestive enzymes because it has none compared to Shakeology. Also, its protein comes from a variety of sources which may not be as absorbable as the 100% whey protein isolate in Shakeology. Also, even at twice the serving size, it doesn’t contain half as much antioxidants as Shakeology does. Shakeology Candy Bark Recipe

Have you tried the Shakeology Candy bark recipe yet? I was AMAZED when I saw a friend post this on Facebook! How is it i never heard of this or thought of this before now? Well I decided to share the healthy candy bark recipe here and let me just say the options are endless when it comes to flavor combinations! This will be my go to when I feel like I want a candy bar. although Shakeology does curb cravings for that! This is a great healthy snack to take on the run with you or send in school lunches! I will be making this for my next Shakeology open house.

Ok so here is the basic recipe which can be adapted by adding in different things and using the other Shakeology flavors. We have Chocolate, Vegan Chocolate, Strawberry, Vegan Strawberry, Greenberry , and Vanilla. You can add in mint extract and make and healthy Andes mint kinda thing even!

1 tablespoon of extra virgin unrefined coconut oil melted

1 tablespoon of peanut butter melted  (I have not tried it with the powdered but it could work you may have to add more oil)

1 scoop of Chocolate Shakeology (or which ever flavor you like)

about 1/8 – 1/4 cup of crushed or chopped nuts

Melt coconut oil and peanut butter in microwave for about 30 seconds just long enough to melt and liquify. Stir together. Add Shakeology and stir. Once mixed add the nuts. spread mixture out in a thin layer on a sheet of foil then place in the freezer for about 15 minutes. Once frozen bang foil on the counter to break up the pieces. Eat and enjoy! I stored the extra in a ziplock bag in the freezer.

Like I said the options are endless just remember everything has calories even though it is all good for you. I was surprised by how much this small batch made! You could even just omit the peanut butter and add ins and mix just the shakeology and the coconut oil together but you will want to either use less Shakeology or increase the coconut oil.
