So if you remember my post from earlier last week you know I was debating on which workout program I was going to use.  With the help of my God daughter and my love of GREAT music I chose Turbo Fire by Chalene Johnson!  I am super excited and I have seen the song list for each Turbo Fire routine and I know I will be sweating and jamming to so awesome music while doing the workouts!

I will be following the 9 week Prep Schedule before going into the HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) workout class schedule. HIIT Firedrills are so intense that you may need to work up to them and that is what Chalene suggests so thats what I am going to do.  After the 9 weeks you go into a 20 week class schedule.

If you battle with your weight you understand how easy it is to fall into gaining weight back after losing it. Over the past few weeks I noticed my pants fitting a bit tighter. I hopped on the scale today to discover I have gained 17 pounds! This wont do at all!

February was a rough month for me with my late husbands birthday and our wedding anniversary along with alot of stress at work and a workout partner who quit on me. Somehow I turned to what I do best just functioning the best I could. Grabbing drive thru food almost daily and eating out several times a week. This lifestyle catches up with you.

I have said this before that I struggle to find balance. I have a great support team with my Beachbody team and even my Beachbody customers. The reality is I will always have to be on my guard when it comes to my weight. I have an addiction to food. I abuse it. When my life is chaotic so is my quality of nutrition. It isnt that I eat alot of food, it is the types of food I am choosing to eat. Calorie rich high fat foods with little nutritional value.

I took a picture of the scale today so you can see that I am being truthful with you as I always have been. It is also a form of accountability for me that seems to help me. By sharing it with the world I have to accept it as being real and that means I have to face it and deal with it.

I am always working towards my goals of getting fit and being healthy even when I backslide I do my best to get right back on track! Thomas Eddison failed over a thousand times before he succeeded. If I have to fail over and over while reaching my goal then I have in fact succeeded.

I stopped having Shakeology for breakfast once a day for starters and that was a big mistake! I will change that starting tomorrow morning. The next thing is to stick with my workout program whatever it may be. I completed 47 days of Les Mills Pump and I loved it. I also tried Zumba very recently and it was alot of fun. Im thinking of doing Turbo Jam or Turbo Fire for a round to see what I can do with it. Either way I will be working out!

P90X Day 11 and 12 YES I am still doing it!

Hi Boys and Girls!

I am combining my P90X day 11 and 12 workouts into one post! Yes I got very busy and if I had to prioritize my blog had to come last.

DAY 11 Yoga X

So day 11 was Thursday and was Yoga X. I have a weekly Fit Club I offer on Thursdays so my my friend Tony suggested that we do Yoga X at our fit club so that I didnt have to do 2 workouts. I thought that was a great idea. Then I went and left the workout at home! So trying to stay true to the workout for the day (Yoga X) I wanted to find another Beachbody workout that had Yoga. We ended up going with the Tony Horton 10 Minute Trainer Yoga Flex which was over before I knew it and I felt like I needed more. I grabbed the Chalene Johnson Turbo Fire Stretch 40 class and we did that as well.

I felt like I stayed true to my P90x schedule even though it was not Yoga X.  Sometimes things like this will happen to you and you just have to do your best and forget the rest. I feel that Tony Horton would have been proud of me for improvising and pushing play.

I also learned to use the stretch bands to help me with my flexibility and a yoga block makes it alot easier!  If you are struggling with yoga you need to try these things it makes a big difference. Now I am actually excited to do yoga next week!


Day 12 Legs and Back and Ab ripper X

I was ready to go Friday night as I  loaded the DVD into the player! It was truly a great workout! I found I was able to do all the moves this time and even the wall squats! I did have to modify a bit but I did it!

I can see huge improvements in my strength and endurance! I am so happy and I think I am falling in love with P90X! I understand truly now why it is a social phenomenon because it changes you. It changes you mentaly as well as physically. I can’t believe I am saying this right now! I LOVE P90X!

I was able to do more of the ab ripper X moves as well. These are hard! Also like Tony Horton says you dont do ab ripper x everyday or it is ineffective.

I am out of my P90X recovery drink! That will teach me to not set it up on an monthly auto shipment! In the meantime until I get it I will be drinking Shakeology as a recovery drink. I did this last night and I can say it did help =) I had it again for breakfast this morning and I feel a little stiff but other than that I feel like I could conquer the world.

As a bonus to Friday night’s workout my 2 youngest daughters came in while we were working out and  joined us.  It was P90X family fun night! I am glad they wanted to join us and thought it was a fun thing to do. You can watch the video of them below.

Workout Myths Busted!

What do you think? Is it better to do cardio for weight loss or is strength training the way to go?

I think this article I came across on Yahoo today gives a great explanation as to what each does for you in terms of burning calories.

I have mixed feelings about the FACTS so to speak. After thinking more about it though I realized that all of the Beachbody programs are created to maximize your calorie burn.
