So, I have been losing weight for a while now. I have lost over 70lbs and 60 inches using Shakeology (from the creators of P90X) once a day as a meal replacement in place of my regular vitamins and nutritional supplements. I feel amazing.

I workout at least 3 x a week. Up till now I have not been fully committed to any one program in particular. I have been playing the field so to speak when it comes to my workout programs. Hey I cant help it I love ALL the Beachbody workouts!

A few weeks ago I was given a challenge by a friend and fellow coach to pick 1 program and see it through from day 1 to the end.  I told him I would I just didnt give him a date! lol…  Keep in mind he has completed 3 rounds of P90X and is in his 2nd month of Insanity.

Then a few days ago I get a phone call from one of my other friends and fellow coach giving me the same challenge! He was specific though (accountability works). He said I really needed to do P90X, and this is why.

There is something very empowering about completing a extreme workout program like P90X. I still have over 100 more lbs to go to reach a weight that I feel comfortable and healthy at. I also need to build muscle to burn fat and get the tone and definition (NOT lose saggy skin) I desire.

So while I was reading the P90X manuals (yes there are manuals) I started to feel very doubtful that I could actually do it! I contacted my friend to let him know I  cant do it! He encouraged me to try. That I can do it! I can modify everything if I need to! Just do it he says. So after a pep talk I agreed that I absolutly would do it and start day 1 of P90x on Monday April 18, 2011.

So last night I did my 1st day of P90x!!! I did the whole thing. I did not have to pause it at all! I did however need to modify many times. The point is that someone like me, needing to lose as much weight as I do, CAN do P90X!

YES, Obese people CAN do p90X. If I can do it you surely can too. You may have to push pause 1/2 way through. You may have to march in place alot. The key is to put that DVD in and push play every day! Push yourself to try to do your best every time you do it! You absolutely can do it. It is all about modifying when you need to.

A bonus to this whole process for me is that my teenage daughter is doing P90X too! We are doing it together! It was great working out with her. we kept each other going. It was such a wonderful experience to exercise with my child and see how good it felt for her to achieve her goal.

Can teenagers do P90X? Absolutely! They need this type of daily activity to be healthy. I highly recommend it. I would even say it is a great program for the whole family.  Now if I could just get my husband to do it! I think once he sees my results he will feel inspired and do it.

Part of doing P90X or any Beachbody workout program for that matter is accountability.  So I am absolutely horrified to post my day 1 pics but here they are.
